Opal Springs Hydroelectric Project & Fish Passage Improvements

Modify the existing Opal Springs Hydroelectric project. Construct new vertical slot fish ladder, modify the existing diversion crest to increase the pool impoundment elevation, install horizontal drains, pre-stressed ground anchors (to support fish ladder construction), mass excavation and install a temporary shoring wall along the river abutment. Install open standpipe piezometer, pneumatic crest gate and control building, compressors, piping, fiber optics, electrical, and tie in to the existing project control system, construct a spillway chute, and modify the existing powerhouse intake and left abutment.

This project opens up over 125 miles of habitat to anadromous fish in the Crooked River watershed, and is pivotal to the broader reintroduction of anadromous fish into the Upper Deschutes Basin upstream of Lake Billy Chinook and the Pelton Round-Butte Hydroelectric project.

Design-Build Selenium Treatment System Phases I & II

Smoky 1Phase I – Construct a 250gpm pilot treatment system (expandable to 2,000 gpm) utilizing a fluidized bed reactor high rate biological reduction process and an ultra-filtration reverse osmosis (UF/RO) pretreatment system to remove selenium to a rate of -0.005mg/L from South Fork Sage Creek and Hoopes Springs.

Phase II – Supply, deliver, and install  a 2,000-GPM “turnkey” supplied UF/RO Selenium  Treatment System.  Project includes  concrete, mechanical, HVAC, ventilation for Frontier Bioreactors, electrical, and instrumentation and controls.

Minidoka Dam Modifications

Construct a south gated spillway,  north and south mass concrete dikes, north and south side canal headworks, north and south mass concrete overflow spillways, and modify the existing north gated spillway.  The spillway dike is 2,000 feet long, the 3 radial gate structures contain 16 radial gates each 20’ wide and 20’ to 24’ tall.  Demolish the existing overflow spillway and canal headworks; excavate foundations, spillway approach channel, and spillway outlet channel, install government-furnished radial gates, gate hoists, and associated equipment; furnish and install fencing, gates, railing, stairs, and gantry crane and associated rails.
