Devils Lake Flood Risk Management Phase 2B Embankments

Raise the existing embankments along Devils Lake from elevation 1461.2 to 1468.2 for approximately 13,500 feet, demolish and construct a new interior drainage pump station and gatewell. Pump station work consists of structural headwall with 72-inch diameter inlet piping capable of discharging 280,000 GPM through eight 42-inch HDPE discharges lines connected to a new gatewell structure constructed within an earthen cofferdam 300 feet into the lake. Other construction items include new primary and secondary power transformers and duct bank, an elevated concrete deck with steel joist and deck for pump station electrical components and pumps, an automated grease lubrication system for main pumps, 72-inch electrically actuated steel gates, 10-ton bridge crane, and overhead suspended rake system for solids collection.

Design-Build SH-3 St. Joe River & St Maries RR Bridge

Construct a new bridge over St. Joe River consisting of six (6) girder lengths and spanning 432-feet from abutment to abutment. Also, construct a 120-foot single span bridge that crosses over the St. Maries River Railroad. The Railroad bridge is pre-stressed concrete girders each of 117-feet in length.

Opal Springs Hydroelectric Project & Fish Passage Improvements

Modify the existing Opal Springs Hydroelectric project. Construct a new vertical slot fish ladder, modify the existing diversion crest to increase the pool impoundment elevation, install horizontal drains, pre-stressed ground anchors (to support fish ladder construction), mass excavation, and install a temporary shoring wall along the river abutment. Install open standpipe piezometer, pneumatic crest gate, and control building, compressors, piping, fiber optics, electrical, and tie into the existing project control system, construct a spillway chute, and modify the existing powerhouse intake and left abutment. This project opens up over 125 miles of habitat to anadromous fish in the Crooked River watershed and is pivotal to the broader reintroduction of anadromous fish into the Upper Deschutes Basin upstream of Lake Billy Chinook and the Pelton Round-Butte Hydroelectric project.

Fall Creek Fish Facility

Construct a new adult fish collection facility, upgrade and tie into the existing fish facility to comply with current environmental criteria, and provide a safe working environment for the end-user. This effort includes a new concrete fish ladder, pre-sort structure, fish crowder, transport flumes, anesthetic tank, recovery tank, false weir, brail assembly, head box dewatering flume, post-sort structure, pre-engineered steel structure, and independent mezzanine with lower access platform, installation of complex mechanical systems, tie in of large diameter carbon steel water supply and return piping, fish handling equipment, demolition and modification of the existing fish ladder, associated electrical installations, asphalt/concrete paving, and landscaping.
